Buffalo, gingham, madras, peacock, tassled or fringed, lately, it seems that all of my ensembles incorporate at least one of these items, giving my look a dose of grunge, hippie and/or prep, all at once.

I had penny loafers, almost like those back in my college days! (mine didn't have the tassle, but rather a little slit thingy where one often put a penny!) -mother
