this red trench jacket was one of my purchases while home in CA after winter semester this year. i was pretty excited when i bought it- since i got it in may it was on the sale rack for exactly $8.99- i thought the deal was too good to be true, but nope. then i thought it would just have to sit in my closet for 4 months or so until winter came again, but one early morning in provo i discovered that it was raining and cold- and i immediately thought of my new jacket!
i started the day with confidence. i got a compliment or two on the jacket. i was feelin good. then i had someone want to actually try on the jacket. she tried it on declared that it didnt look good on her. then, to my horror, another person asked if my jacket had shoulder pads in it. that simple question was all it took for me to seriously reconsider ever wearing the jacket again. THEN as i was exiting the premise of this question, i was also called "carmen san diego."
i think this jacket is going back in the closet for a little while.

Would have to see the coat with you standing up, but I wouldn't get rid of it. Just wear it with more confidence and everyone will want one!
aw dont let the fashion haters get you down! i think it's really cute :) whenever someone makes a negative comment about one of my outfits i just laugh bc i know how fashion clueless they are.
Oh God, do not listen to them. I adore that jacket!!!
